Interested in the other models by Haluzak? Here is the skinny:
- The Leprechaun (MSRP $1,925):
The Leprechaun is optimized for smaller riders. It is identical to the Horizon in every way except for the 16" (349mm) front wheel and matching fork.
The smaller front wheel lowers the bike as well allows for proper leg length adjustment without significant heel interference. It's weight is just
short of a pound less than the Horizon.
- The Hybrid (MSRP $2,375):
Haluzak's premiere road bike, the Hybrid is the recumbent for the serious roadie. This is a light, fast, nimble and stable road recumbent. The frame
is made of a lighter gauge chromolly (.035 as opposed to .049 for the standard Horizon). The Hybrid is available in a heavier guage frame for riders over 200lb.
The Hybrid is equipped with a custom road fork that
is both light and lively, providing perfect balance between control comfort.
This version of the Haluzak comes in three flavors: Hybrid Race, Hybrid Horizon, and Hybrid Leprechaun. All three use exactly the same frame
and seat design as the
Horizon. The forks are a custom, light weight design matching the three wheel sizes. Components are upgraded to the Shimano Ultegra and LX lines.
Aero light weight rims are included. Light weight narrow tires from various manufacturers are fitted depending on availability.
The differences in wheel sizes and approximate weights are as follows:
Hybrid Race: 20" (451mm) front, 700c (622mm) rear -- weight ~25.5lb
Hybrid Horizon: 20" (406mm) front, 26" (559mm) rear -- weight ~25lb
Hybrid Leprechaun: 16" (349mm) front, 26" (559mm) rear -- weight ~24.5lb
Any Haluzak model may be ordered with a Pantour Hub fitted on the front wheel. The Horizon and the Leprechaun may be ordered with a shock mounted front fork (adds about a pound to the weight). Because of the flexibility built into the rear chain stay design, few riders will feel the need of a rear suspension.
